“Haiku of a New York Minute” captures the personality and vivid realizations of a raw metropolis by visual artist, Adrian Bermeo. In his inaugural self-publication, the observer from Queens taps our shoulder as a neighborhood witness and introspectively delves into childhood memories, intimate convictions, and aspirations for a collective future. Comprised of 83 poems and a selection of related artworks, Bermeo reflects on his multilayered experiences as a LatinX painter while highlighting some of NYC’s social awareness, diverse ecosystems and the imperfect dynamics which make this Gotham one of the most unique voices in Global culture - a culture in jeopardy of becoming diluted.
